Training and Development Manager

Our continued growth and success has allowed us to provide exciting career opportunities for passionate, customer focused, and highly motivated individuals. The Training and Development Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and managing training and development programs for Operations employees on a national level in support of the company’s business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops and implements training curriculum; develops training program and collateral for delivery in a classroom, web-based, mobile devices, and/or blended training environment.
  • Facilitates training curriculum and/or develops internal facilitators for program delivery.
  • Identifies key knowledge and developmental gaps based on individual, team or business inputs.
  • Provides recommendations to close gaps and provides analysis-based recommendations for training solutions that leverage a variety of methods, technologies and knowledge sharing tools (i.e. classroom based, self-study, online) to meet a variety of training types and needs.
  • Works closely with Operations Management, Human Resources, and the ForTec Leadership team to communicate the current and future training and development landscape.
  • Develops, presents, and maintains: project plans, needs assessment reports, design documents, instructional materials, evaluation summaries, and other relevant Key Performance Indicators.
  • Works closely with Regional Logistics and Operations Directors to ensure onboarding success for new hires and employees placed in new roles.
  • Proactively reviews and shares market knowledge on training and development trends and innovations.

 Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Organization Design, Human Resources, or business related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of a variety of training programs. Experience supporting the training needs of a geographically dispersed company required. Medical / clinical / technical training experience preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge and skills with Microsoft office applications. Experience with Learning Management Systems preferred.  Solid foundation and knowledge of Training and Development principles and best practices.
  • Skills/Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills. Ability to work with a high sense of urgency and deliver on deadlines and commitments. Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, high-energy, business environment subject to rapid change. Solid business acumen. Excellent problem solving, analytical, and project management skills required. Promotes a positive company culture through a demeanor of professionalism, respect, integrity, teamwork, agility, and positive energy. Strong collaboration skills in team settings and working groups, both as a team player as well as a leader.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to field locations based on business needs.
